The disability benefit Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) has featured heavily in the news in the last 24 hours.
While the BBC has reported leaked documents about the future of payments, a major announcement on the new company replacing the assessment provider Atos has also been made. Read on.

Quiz Night Money Raised

Thanks to those that came/supported the quiz night on 24th October. We had 13 teams and a great night. We raised £878.03.

ILC Open Day – Wed 3 Dec 2014

The Independent Living Centre is holding another Open Day, this time on the theme of Assistive Technology.
We hope to have a range of suppliers coming with aids such as pendant alarms, medication reminders, key safes etc.
Local organisations such as Carers Oxfordshire, dementia information services, the Sleep Apnoea Trust will also be coming.

The event will be on Wednessday 3 December (10am to 3pm) at Peachcroft Christian Centre, Lindsay Drive, Abingdon. OX14 2RT
All are welcome to our open days. Just drop in. Refreshments available.

MS Society responds to new NICE clinical guidelines on MS

Two MS treatments that relieve MS symptoms have been rejected by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE), in its new national clinical guideline for multiple sclerosis, published on the 8th October 2014.
The guideline, which sets out how the NHS should manage the treatment of people with MS, is the first to be published in over a decade. Read more.
