New research shows that our bodies own immune systems have another way to fight off urinary tract infections (UTIs) without antibiotics – and it’s super effective. This is a pretty big deal, seeing as UTIs are one of the most common infections treated with antibiotics in humans – something that’s contributing to the rise of drug-resistant superbugs.

New Pre-HSCT Treatment May Make Stem Cell Transplants a Safer Option for MS Patients.
Scientists at Stanford University School of Medicine have developed a method for stem cell transplants that may do away with the need for prior systematic treatment with chemotherapy or radiotherapy. If successful, stem cell transplants could be an option for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), an option now limited by the risk of severe toxicity triggered by the chemotherapy. Read on.
Potentially thousands with MS missing out on crucial treatments
A sizeable amount of people living with MS are at risk of being forgotten by the NHS.
One in ten of those with relapsing MS haven’t seen an MS nurse orneurologist for over a year. Among this group, just 12% are taking a disease modifying therapy (DMT) which could reduce relapses and slow progression of MS.
However, 73% of those who have seen a specialist within the last year are taking a DMT. Read on.

Dear Friends
I would love to work with a group of people to develop this script.
Please share with any useful contacts to help me flog a few? Basically it is 101 imaginings around a walking frame. I would love it to be as good as Curious Incident…
I would love you to email me any feedback. Please keep any reviews on Amazon to five star!
Thanks
Esme

Volunteers needed
As you may be aware the 2016 Business & Community Awards (BACAs) are now open for anyone to nominate a local business, charity or community group that deserves some recognition for all the hard work and achievements they’ve obtained throughout the year. The BACAs celebrate and reward excellence for organisations in and around the Didcot area within the OX11 postcode and extends out to Culham Science Park, Harwell Campus, Milton Park and Southmead Industrial Estate as well as all the surrounding villages.
Anyone can nominate a business, charity or community group by visiting our website http://didcotfirst.org.uk/page-galleries.html and completing an eNomination form. The form is much quicker and easier to complete this year, with just a number of tick boxes to mark and 2 questions on the organisation or group nominated. We welcome self-nomination, but please also feel free to forward this information onto your partners, suppliers, employees, volunteers, customers, service users and colleagues.
Paper copies of the form are available from Cornerstone Arts Centre, Newbury Building Society and Soha Housing Offices in Didcot. All organisations shortlisted for an award are invited to attend the Gala Evening on Friday 18th November at Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot, where all the winners are announced. Anyone who completes a nomination form can enter a free prize draw to receive 2 free tickets to the Gala Event in November.
Once we have received a nomination, we will contact the person mentioned on the form and request further information for their relevant award. If you have any further questions or queries regarding the BACAs, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind regards
