Thank you to Tom Clewley who also took part in Ride London and raised £225 for The Centre.
About the Ride.
The day started at 4.50am despite having 100 miles ahead of me that day this was by far the hardest thing I had to do. After Finishing breakfast I was kindly dropped off by my Dad(also having to get up nice and early) 5 miles out from the start line. On my ride into the start line I received a puncture in my back wheel, Not the start you hope for so early in the morning.
Getting to the startline you are faced with thousands of cyclist all waiting for the start, the atmosphere was amazing, the thought of riding on closed roads around London was unbelievable.
I met up with Neil not long after my start time where we stayed together for 46 miles, where after that I lost him on a hill. The rest of the ride was just as beautiful as the first half. The rain came down but everyone kept Cycling.
Unfortunately I didn’t get the opportunity to Climb Box Hill, this was something I had been looking forward to since the start, but they had to close it off for safety reasons. But maybe next year.
Coming towards the finishing line you come across a overwhelming feeling of success. It was great to have the support of my Wife aldest son Benjamin(5) Dad and Step Mum at the finishing Line.
I would like to thank the MS Therapy Centre for this opportunity not just to ride such an event but to do it for such a great cause, I hope the money raised goes towards helping others out as much as it can.
